The power of second and third sharing in social media marketing

Designing a social media marketing campaign? Well, then you need to understand the basics of targeting the right audience and the power of sharing. The second and the third audience is more important than the immediate audience, you look forward to. But, for the message to be passed on to the second and third audience, it is essential that the content you prepare is shareable.

Let’s find out that what is actually meant by the terms immediate audience, second audience and the third audience.

Immediate Audience:
Campaigns are normally designed to attract the attention of customers to buy the product or service you are offering. Once the purchase is made, the relationship between the viewers of the ad and the ad is complete. Eg; someone saw the advertisement of a particular watch and buys it. The aim of the marketer gets fulfilled because of that purchase. But, in the long term this is not the only thing you need. Immediate audience is one which you earn directly through your ads.

Second Audience:
A person shares something online when he can connect with it personally and agrees with what has been said/shown in it. As a marketer, your objective is not just to connect with your immediate audience, but it is to satisfy them in a manner that they share & recommend it to their friends & knowns. Your purpose to make ads is not just to get someone’s attention but of influencing them in a way that they convince others also to see your ad.
A person shares & recommends something to express himself or when he think it can be useful to others. So, they should be given something with which they can express themselves.
You mark an impression with your ad, 20 people see it and all of them buy it, then too the campaign will not be successful till the time they all share it.
You gain second audience when your first audience shares your content.

Third Audience
Your campaign actually becomes viral and successful only when your first audience shares it with the second audience and the second audience finds it valuable & useful enough to share and pass it on to the third audience.
If your content gets shared three times, you have attracted enough eyeballs that will be curious to know that what is this about which everyone is talking.
